Short biography:
Helena Gata works for the 3rd Sector since 1997 and she accumulates 5 professional experiences abroad (France, Holland, England, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau). She holds a Sociology degree from Porto University; she has a master in International Cooperation and Development from the School of Economics and Management ISEG/UTL and finished the Social Entrepreneurship Course (ISEP) from INSEAD in Singapore. Currently she is doing a Ph.D in Economic Sociology at ISEG – School of Economics & Management Lisbon University focused on Working Poor research. As a Social Entrepreneur, she has created and implemented various social projects in Portugal and African Portuguese speaking countries. She participated and coordinated three national studies. In the last 16 years, as Executive director, she was responsible for business development at the organizations she cooperated with. Currently she is a Strategic Management Consultant, president of ESLIDER – National Network of Social Entrepreneurs and Leaders of Civil Society and member of the board of EUCLID Network.
