Short biography:
Christian Wolf, Ph.D. in management by ISCTE, has project management experience spanning more than 15 sub-Saharan African countries. He worked in project management for SG4Africa, which is a pan-African consortium led by PEEP (Portugal) and the University of Johannesburg (South Africa). The SG4Africa consortium focused at the intersection between informal savings groups and modern-day linkages to formal banking as well as technology. Previously, he was Entrepreneurship Coordinator at PEEP (a Portuguese NGO) where he worked in several EU projects on entrepreneurship education, including YouthStart Entrepreneurial Challenges (a large-scale policy experimentation project involving the education ministries of four European countries) and ECOOPE Youth Cooperative Entrepreneurship. It was thanks to his work for PEEP that he discovered his interest in Africa, starting with a research project on crowdfunding.His research on sub-Saharan Africa is mostly focused on entrepreneurship and financial inclusion. He also carried out a study in the East African banking sector, which was published by the Africa Journal of Management.
