Short biography:
Associate Professor (2017) and researcher at ISEG since 1996. Sofia Bento teaches disciplines as Sociology of Science, Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior. She coordinates different levels of education: at a bachelor level, the Personal Development Program of ISEG-Boost Your Talent, at a Master level she is co-coordinator of the Master in Economics and Management of Science, Technology and Innovation, and she coordinates the PhD Program in Economic and Organizational Sociology. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management (as of July 2018) and also a member of the General Council of the University of Lisbon (since 2017). He represents ISEG at ESST - European Studies of Society, Science and Technology - in which she offers a specialization on "Water management and water uses: public participation, stakeholders' involvement and the role of science" (as of 2012). She develops research on the topics of environment and participation, scientific and technical controversies, scientific institutions, professionals and knowledge. She published several articles and book chapters on these topics. She coordinated national and international projects, and several teams in international projects. She is currently involved in the international project on soil contamination in Europe, entitled SOILTAKECARE, in which she coordinates the Portuguese team.
