Short biography:

Economist, researcher and university professor. He has a degree and master's degree in Economics (specialization in Economics of Growth and Structural Policies) and a postgraduate degree in Social Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC). PhD in Economic and Social History from the Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG) of the University of Lisbon. He developed two post-doctorates – the first at the GHES/CSG/ISEG research center and the second at FEUC. He also attended a series of courses, namely the Specialization Course in Financial Auditing and Internal Control at APEU / FEUC, the Fast-Track MBA at IDEFE/ISEG and the Advanced Program in Diplomacy at IEP at Universidade Católica. He wrote the books “Grande Guerra e Guerra Colonial: Custos para os Cofres Portugueses” (Preface by Adriano Moreira) and “Os Planos de Fomento do Estado Novo: Quantificação e Análise” (Preface by Nuno Valério). As a sole author, he has published articles in international scientific journals – European Review of Economic History; Defense and Peace Economics; Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History; Cogent Economics & Finance; Economic History Research; The Journal of European Economic History; among others – book chapters, working papers and technical bulletins. He began professional career at Ernst & Young (EY). He developed activities in the European Parliament and was a parliamentary advisor in the areas of Economy and Finance in the Portuguese parliament. He is currently a researcher at the GHES/ CSG/ ISEG and RCM2+ centers and is also the professor responsible for several curricular units at the Lusófona University and the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra. He wrote opinion articles for Diário Económico, Jornal Económico, ECO, NOVO Semanário and CNN Portugal Digital. He participated in several information television programs on channels RTP 3 and CNN Portugal analyzing current economic issues.
