Short biography:
Assistant professor with tenure at ISEG, Universidade de Lisboa, where she teaches the chairs of Corporate Governance, Business Finance and Accounting 1. Currently, she is the coordinator of the PhD in Management program at ISEG, Universidade de Lisboa. The areas of research interest lie in the intersection of corporate governance, top management characteristics, diversity, and what the effects on business performance and survival. Maria João Holds a PhD in Corporate Finance from Imperial College Business School, London, UK; MSc in Management from ISEG, Technical University of Lisbon and a MSc in Management from ISEG, Technical University of Lisbon.
