Short biography:
Bárbara Ferreira is a researcher at SOCIUS/CSG (ISEG/ University of Lisbon) and a collaborator of CEG (IGOT/ University of Lisbon). She has a degree in Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), a master’s degree in Development and International Cooperation (ISEG – University of Lisbon) and is finishing her Ph.d. on Economic and Organisational Sociology at the same institution, with a scholarship funded by the University of Lisbon. She has worked as a junior researcher in FCT projects (REHURB – Rehousing and Urban Regeneration and Migrations; REMIGR –The new Emigration and the Portuguese Society) and has collaborated in other international projects (COST ACTION - Gender and health impacts of policies extending working life in western countries; ICMPD/ UCLG/ UN-HABITAT – Mediterranean City-to-City Migration project). Her research interests focus on areas such as Collective Action, Citizen Participation, Social Movements, Community Development, Urban and Social Exclusion and International Migrations.
