Short biography:
Bernadete Bittencourt has a PhD in Economic and Organizational Sociology from the University of Lisbon and a degree in Administration from the Federal University of Bahia. She is currently Post-Doc Researcher and Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro (UA), namely in its research unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies (GOVCOPP) and Department of Social, Political and Territory Sciences (DCSPT). She is research member of the Research Center in Economic and Organizational Sociology (SOCIUS/ISEG-UL) and Researcher of the Center for Research in Social Innovation in the Public Sphere (NISP/ESAG/UDESC). Her main research interests are focused on public administration, social innovation ecosystems, social innovation, social and solidary economy, public policy, entrepreneurship, governance, sustainable local development policy, third sector, with particular interest in territorial development policy. She has publications in books, scientific magazines and a number of presentations at conferences. She is also ad hoc reviewer for some scientific journals and consultant of scientific graduate councils in Brazil. Furthermore, she has expertise in consulting in the field of public administration, sustainable local development, and microentrepreneurship.
