Short biography:
Graduated and PhD in Economics from ISEG/UL. Specialist in economics and economic development policy, particularly in Africa and East Asia. Economic Counselor of the Central Bank of Timor-Leste (2002-2013) and of the National Parliament of this country (2013-2018). Published many works and conferences on / in Mozambique, Korea, East Timor and others. Member of the Economics Department of the Lisbon School of Economics and Management of the Universidade de Lisboa (ISEG / IL) since 1973 - the year in which he began his teaching activity. In recent years he has been professor in the scientific areas Development Economics on economic and social development policies and on the Asia-Pacific economies) and macroeconomic theory (economic conjuncture and long-term structural changes), both in Economic and Management Degrees and in its Master's in International Development and Cooperation (INN).
