PhD in Economics from the Superior Institute of Economics and Management of the University Lisbon, completed on December 14, 1989. Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, completed in 1977. Degree in Economics from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management of the Technical University of Lisbon, completed in the academic year 1976- 1977.
