Short biography:
Ana Luísa Silva is a PhD candidate in Development Studies at ISEG, with a background in Political Science and International Relations (NOVA FCSH, 2007). She earned an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2009. Ana is a development practitioner and researcher with experience in the design and management of international development cooperation projects and programs. Between 2009 and 2015, she worked as an NGO Project Manager designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative solutions to improve transport systems for healthcare access in remote areas of Sub-Saharan Africa, namely in Nigeria, Mozambique, and Madagascar. She also has experience in the private sector, working in tourism and in the European startup innovation eco-system. Her PhD project is on innovation in international development cooperation, with a focus on non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in development.
