Projeto Erasmus+, realizado na ação-chave “cooperação e inovação para boas práticas” e no campo de “parcerias estratégicas para o ensino e a formação profissionais”.
Project duration:
September 2018 – August 2021 (36 months)
PROJECT PRESENTATION
European Union (UE) fosters sustainable growth by implementing environmental and social objectives through the Europe 2020 strategy and the common agricultural policy. Local and sustainable food systems (LSFS) appear as a pillar in this politic because it is at the crossroad of many issues: sustainable agriculture, climate changes mitigation, poverty reduction and food security. Indeed, sustainable agriculture and local sales will reduce environmental footprint of food production and transportation. It will have consequences on poverty and social bonds by bringing closer food producers and food consumers, encouraging rural development and bringing value to farmers work.
Teaching and professional training play a key role in awareness and empowerment of the future producers, consumers and agricultural stakeholders in those issues.
LSFS require new skills and competences that teachers and trainers must develop. The pedagogical methods have to be based on a systemic and multidisciplinary approach using, among others techniques, observation, demonstration and case studies.
