SOCIUS opens two doctoral positions in the areas of Financial Anthropology and Sustainability Sciences


Pursuant to Article 23 of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, and until July 6th, it is open at SOCIUS – Research Centre in Economic and Organizational Sociology an international selection tender for two vacancies of doctorate in the areas of Anthropology of Finance (Vacancy 1) and Sustainability Science (Vacancy 2), under a non-fixed term work contract, for the maximum duration of six years, pursuant to the dispositions of article 23 (1) and (4) of Decree-Law N.º 57/2016 of 29th August, updated by the Law nº 57/2017, of 19th July and to the Labour Code, under its current reading.

The researcher to be recruited under Vacancy 1 is expected to have research experience in subjects related to economic and organizational life (especially finance), to further develop research on topics such as economic anthropology and economic sociology, social studies of finance, anthropology of money, finance and monetary innovation, financial supervision and regulation, organizational ethnography and multi- and interdisciplinary research approaches. the silver inflows and impacts on Portuguese money supply and exchange rate in a comparative perspective.

Under Vacancy 2, the researcher to be recruited is expected to have research experience in subjects related to economic and organizational life (especially from an environmental perspective), to further develop research on topics such as corporate sustainability, environmental sustainability for businesses, corporate social responsibility communication, sustainable local development, public participation, mixed methods and multi- and interdisciplinary research approaches.
