The 1st CSG RESEARCH FORUM aims to promote scientific and inter-disciplinary development among the scientific areas covered by CSG – mainly Economic and Organizational Sociology, Management, Finance, Economics, Development Studies, Economic and Social History. Inter-disciplinary development is understood to be the intersection and interaction between different disciplines, which has been cited as enabling the possibility of a more appropriate understanding of current complexities and of the creation of more comprehensive, innovative and balanced ideas. This will thus bring about an increase in the relationship between theory and empiricism, between basic and applied research, and between individuals and teams. The priority is to cooperate in both the public and business contexts, to enable CSG to become a reference for political and business decision-makers, both national and international.

In this context, CSG is going to hold its 1st Forum on the 15th of March, 2016. This will involve all the members of CSG (researchers, PhD students, other members), with the objective of sharing knowledge and of reflecting about the strategic direction of their research within the respective Research Group or Thematic Line.

 

What needs to be submitted:

This being a time when all colleagues have an opportunity to share their work and intentions for future research or projects, the following types of participation are expected:

Short presentations aimed to share research work already carried out, or that in progress, as well as future lines of research;
A proposal for subject-based collaboration, including establishing working groups (inter-Groups, or intra-Groups/Research Groups), with the aim of presenting projects to FCT and other sources of funding;
The presentation of research work by ISEG PhD students, leading to a discussion of their research projects or the preliminary results of their theses;
The presentation of research networks (external) to which the researchers/centres belong to, in order that more resources may be made known for potential projects in the future;
A debate about the opportunities and situations for the dissemination of scientific research to the business world, society as a whole, and for public policies;
The presentation of posters of the teams of the various units of the consortium.

 

Instructions for authors:

When submitting an abstract, it is obligatory to include all the following information:

The Research Group(s) (GI) or Thematic Line(s) (TL);
The subject of the presentation;
A brief abstract, which describes the purpose of participation in the Forum, by selecting one of the following: i) a presentation of the research work in progress; ii) fund-raising for future research projects; iii) the presentation and discussion of past research work; iv) the presentation of a research network, and; v) any other item not contemplated in the preceding points;
Key words;
If there is more than one author, then their order of listing, name, affiliation, and email address should be indicated.

The deadline for submitting proposals is the 26th of February, 2016.Proposals should be sent to the following. Email: eventoscsg@iseg.ulisboa.pt mentioning as the Subject: 1st CSG Research Forum.
Publishing of the Programme: 8th of March, 2016.
Date of the event: 15th of March, 2016.
